JACKSON, Wyo. — Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir and the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra are spreading joy and holiday cheer online this year, through a virtual winter gala and concert, Harmony for the Holidays. The gala takes place over two nights on December 21 and 22 at 6 pm. Both nights are free and will stream virtually at www.jhcenterforthearts.org.

Harmony for the Holidays is a winter celebration and includes a virtual community Sing-along on December 21 as well as a virtual holiday concert on December 22. Musicians from Cathedral Voices, Jackson Hole Brass Quintet, the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra, and Treble Voices have been carefully preparing music for both events.

For over a decade, Cathedral Voices and the JHSO have presented countless holiday concerts for thousands of audiences.  Instead of canceling the tradition, both music groups agreed to use technology to take the tradition to the worldwide web.  “Cultural activities are incredibly important as we continue to weather the storm of the Corona Virus,” said Cathedral Voices Artistic Director Laura Huckin. “Connection and engagement are essential for everyone’s mental and social well-being. We need joy, we need hope.”

“Even though we are unable to have an in-person audience for the winter gala this year, we are so fortunate that Cathedral Voices and our production staff has been able to adapt to a virtual platform through some exceptional technology. Thank you to Cathedral Voices for giving our community beautiful holiday music during a time when so many of us are isolated,” said Center for the Arts Executive Director Marty Camino.
