Welcome Spring with Music of Hope!
Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir and Treble Voices perform two FREE concerts in April
JACKSON, WY. The Community is invited to Hope Springs, two free chamber music concerts featuring Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir and Treble Voices! Performances take place Friday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in downtown Jackson. Admission is FREE and all ages are welcome. For more information please visit www.cathedralvoices.org.
Highlighting the program will be Herbert Howells’ Requiem, expressing hope in a most beautiful and moving choral work. Written in the early 1930’s, but not released for performance until 1980, Requiem is written for a cappella choir. “Howells composed this Requiem in response to the untimely death of his son,” states Laura Huckin, Artistic Director for Cathedral Voices. “Filled with grief and searching for peace, this music is simply stunning.” Hope Springs also includes familiar gospel favorites such as The Battle of Jericho as well as a lively performance of African folksongs.
These performances would not be possible without the support of the Wyoming Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Old Bill’s Fun Run, Cultural Council of Jackson Hole/Town and County Arts for All, Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund, and the many individuals and businesses that support free, live music in Teton County.
