Musical Fanfare Opens the 2018 Spring Festival
Chamber Spotlight features local musicians & joyous music
JACKSON, WY. Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir’s second Spring Music Festival kicks-off Tuesday, May 1st with a fantastically loud, energetic, and celebratory performance by the Jackson Hole Brass Quintet, organist Ron Fabry, and the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra String Trio at St. John’s Episcopal Church. St. John’s will come alive with classical music Tuesday night. Four additional brass musicians from Idaho will join the Jackson Hole Brass Quintet to perform Antiphonal Brass music by Giovanni Gabrieli. “The music is so bright, energetic, and full-sounding” commented Amanda Flosbach, from the Brass Quintet. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the famous recording of Gabrieli’s Antiphonal Music performed by various combinations of the Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Chicago Brass Ensembles.
The Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra String Trio is performing several movements from Ludwig Van Beethoven’s thematically rich and buoyant Trio in G Major, Opus 9. Organist Ron Fabry joins the performance with solo works, as well as a performance of Strauss’ Solemn Entry for Brass and Organ.
“We’re so delighted to collaborate with local musicians and have them take the Spotlight as we launch the Festival,” mentioned Laura Huckin, Festival Artistic Director.

The week culminates with the final Gala Performance on May 4th, 7pm, at Walk Festival Hall. Six choruses from Jackson and Pinedale take the stage, along with a 15-piece chamber orchestra of local musicians, and composer Dan Forrest. A celebratory reception will follow the concert.
