Cathedral Voices Brings Carols of Joy to Jackson
Annual Holiday Concerts presented at Jackson Hole High School Auditorium
JACKSON, WY. Cathedral Voices is pleased to present two performances of its annual holiday concert—Carols of Joy—in the Jackson Hole High School Auditorium on December 9th, at 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Carols of Joy features both classic and new, contemporary carols performed by the Cathedral Voices and Treble Voices choirs, with members of the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra. A special children’s choir performance rounds out this concert of jubilant chamber music. All are welcome to attend this FREE and family-friendly event. A $10 donation at the door is encouraged. For more information, please visit www.cathedralvoices.org.
The Concert program features a few familiar classic tunes (such as Silent Night, Sleigh Ride), but the vast majority are new, contemporary works, including selections composed for choir and celeste, as well as choir and string quartet. “There is some stunning, new music being composed every year,” comments Laura Huckin. “Carols of Joy celebrates some brilliant new carols which will certainly become timeless classics in the future.” The concert also brings together a children’s choir comprised of young singers from several local children’s church choirs and Cathedral Voices’ workshop series for young voices. “We’re delighted to provide young voices the opportunity to share their talents, and to grow and develop their own skills through the art of performance” added Ms. Huckin. “They are an inspiration to work with.”
Supported in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the Center of Wonder/Town and County Arts for All, and Cathedral Voices’ Business Partners and Season Sponsors.
