JACKSON, Wyo. — The holidays have a soundtrack.
Whether yours is classic carols or contemporary tunes, nothing rings in the holiday season better than music. And Harmony for the Holidays has it all. Join Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir directed by Laura Huckin, the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra directed by Vince Gutwein, and the Jackson Hole Brass Quintet for an evening of festive holiday tunes Friday, December 20 at 7 p.m. A reception will follow in The Center lobby.
A local tradition since 2011, “Harmony for the Holidays” is a community-wide effort. A total of 75 local musicians take part in the holiday tradition. Enjoy performances from Cathedral Voices’ two chamber choirs, local strings, a brass quintet, and a special performance by the Cathedral Voices Children’s Choir.
“This concert is one of our favorites,” Huckin said. “Everyone involved works so hard to create holiday magic, and it truly shows.”
The repertoire has something for everybody: from age-old classics by George Frideric Handel to Pentatonix remixes of holiday favorites, and nearly everything in between. A proud showcase of the evening is music by two female composers, Abbie Betinis and Gwyneth Walker. The music is mesmerizing, akin to what you might expect in major metropolitan cities but performed right here in Jackson.
After the show, guests are invited to a reception with the musicians in The Center lobby, catered by the Bull Moose Lodge & Saloon.
