Classical Academy Children’s Choir joins Spring Festival Lineup
Academy Choir brings young voices to Walk Festival Hall  
JACKSON, WY.  Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir’s second Spring Music Festival presents four days of performances, lectures, and open rehearsals, featuring Dan Forrest, an internationally-acclaimed choral composer, educator, and pianist. Jackson Hole Classical Academy’s Children’s Choir will be a featured ensemble at the May 4th Gala Concert at Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village.  For details, visit www.cathedralvoices.org.
The Classical Academy Choir is comprised of students in grades 3-9. This afterschool choir is an extension of the rich musical program offered at Jackson Hole Classical Academy.  Lisa Landis, Music Director, said, “Our students are honored to perform in Walk Festival Hall with Dan Forrest.” Polly J. Friess, Head of School, added, “This will be an enriching experience for our students to learn directly from a notable composer.”
“The arts are an integral part of the curriculum taught at the Academy,” noted Artistic Director, Laura Huckin.  “Cathedral Voices wants to support this commitment to the performing arts, and encourage these students to keep singing!”  The Academy Choir will have the privilege of meeting and rehearsing with Dan Forrest on May 2nd.

Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir inspires harmony and community through excellence in music performance, education, and outreach.  The choir’s concerts and programs include Singing in the Schools, Summer Sing!, and nearly a dozen performances and outreach events.
Dan Forrest (b. 1978) has been described as having “an undoubted gift for writing beautiful music….that is truly magical” (NY Concert Review). Born in Elmira, New York, Mr. Forrest received a B.Mus. and an M.Mus. in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University and a D.M.A. in composition from the University of Kansas. Since its first publication in 2001, Dan’s music has sold millions of copies, and is well established in the repertoire of choirs in the U.S. and around the world.

Singers from Sublette County join the 2018 Spring Music Festival
Vocalists from Pinedale to perform with Cathedral Voices
 JACKSON, WY.  Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir’s second Spring Music Festival presents four days of performances, lectures, and open rehearsals in Jackson, featuring Dan Forrest, an internationally-acclaimed choral composer, educator, and pianist. Three Pinedale choirs including the Pinedale Festival Choir, Sisters of the Heart and Voices 8 have been invited to perform in the Spring Festival’s Gala Concert.  Don’t miss a very special event featuring 26 adults and students from Pinedale performing with over 50 Jackson vocalists and visiting composer Dan Forrest at 7pm on May 4 at Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village.  For details, visit www.cathedralvoices.org.
“Pinedale Community Theatre (PCT) actors and Pinedale Community Choir members just can’t stop singing” says Valerie Lee, Managing Director of Pinedale Community Theater and the director/organizer of the Pinedale choirs participating in this year’s event.  “It’s fantastic!” Singers have been rehearsing since early January.
During the Festival’s Gala Concert, each participating choir ensemble will perform a featured set of music. The conclusion of the performance will bring all vocalists to the stage to perform three songs by Dan Forrest. Mr. Forrest—an accomplished pianist—will accompany the combined choirs for the two final selections.

2018 Spring Music Festival Brings Visiting Composer to Jackson
Cathedral Voices presents a week of events with American Composer, Dan Forrest
JACKSON, WY.  Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir’s second Spring Music Festival presents four days of performances, lectures, and open rehearsals in Jackson, May 1-4, 2018. Featuring Dan Forrest, an internationally-acclaimed choral composer, educator, and pianist, this year’s Festival celebrates the process and artistry of music creation. Regional choral and instrumental ensembles will perform with Mr. Forrest at the conclusion of the week’s events.  For details, visit www.cathedralvoices.org.
In 2016, Cathedral Voices performed music by Dan Forrest with Distinguished Concerts International at Carnegie Hall and had the privilege of meeting the composer. “Dan is an extraordinary musician and artist,” commented Laura Huckin, Cathedral Voices Artistic Director. “It is a special honor to have him in Jackson, to engage and interact with our community.”  During the Festival week, Mr. Forrest will make classroom visits to local youth and offer public discussions, in addition to performing.
Although he frequently travels the world, Mr. Forrest has never been to Wyoming.  “I’m greatly looking forward to joining Cathedral Voices for this Festival in Jackson Hole,” commented Dan, “making beautiful music in a beautiful place.”
