Spring Concert and Symphonic World Premiere Celebrates Local Talent

Cathedral Voices presents From Darkness to Light

JACKSON, WY. Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir and the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra announce another spectacular musical collaboration “From Darkness to Light” on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the Center Theater at Jackson’s Center for the Arts. The concert is free and non ticketed, with a suggested $10 donation accepted at the door. There is a 15-minute intermission and a reception to follow in the theater lobby. Doors open at 3:30pm.

The concert features a symphonic premiere composed by Vonn Vanier, an 18 year-old senior at Jackson Community School. “When Golden Leaves Turn to Frost” is a large-scale orchestral tribute to the natural beauty of Jackson Hole. This premiere, plus music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, is conducted by Dr. Daniel Baldwin with the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra.

Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir’s performance “From Darkness to Light” pays tribute to the landscape of human emotion through a curated selection of music from composers including Jake Runestad, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Jean Sibelius, and others. The choir is conducted by Artistic Director Laura Huckin and accompanied by Lisa Landis on piano, Diana Wilson on vibraphone, and percussionist Todd Harris.

“Cathedral Voices remains committed to nurturing talent – both young and old – and inviting everyone into the musical experience,” said Laura Huckin, Cathedral Voices Artistic Director. “We began our concert season with a performance and community sing with guest artist Coty Raven Morris and Teton County School District music students. It is very fitting to end our concert season in a similar fashion, celebrating young talent in our own community and empowering the next generation to shine.”

Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir inspires harmony and community through musical excellence in performance, education and outreach. Inspiring everyone to be part of the music.
