Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir Honors Cultural Diversity through Music

Cathedral Voices Presents “Songs of Spirit: Our Song, Our Story” April 26th, 2026

JACKSON, WY — The Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir invites the community to experience Songs of Spirit: Our Song, Our Story, a moving and vibrant choral performance taking place on Sunday, April 26 at 4:00 PM at the Center Theater. This special event marks the conclusion of Cathedral Voices’ 2025–2026 concert season and is free and open to the public.

Conducted by Laura Huckin, with special guest conductor Dr. Brandon A. Boyd (University of Missouri), this concert celebrates the rich diversity of cultural traditions that shape our communities and national identity. Through a thoughtfully curated program, Songs of Spirit highlights the power of music to tell stories, preserve heritage, and foster connection.

The concert explores the unique blend of voices within the Cathedral Voices Choir, showcasing music representing Europe, Latin America, and Asia, alongside American Folk Songs. Under the direction of Dr. Boyd, Songs of Spirit also features choral works by African American composers, offering audiences a deeper understanding and appreciation of Black history and its enduring influence on American music.

Singers representing the Northern Arapaho Tribe, Blackfeet Nation, and Jemez Pueblo Tribe will commence the concert. “Songs of Spirit creates a powerful narrative commemorating resilience, heritage, and unity through song,” commented Ms. Huckin. “We are honored to have local Native American tribes participating as we celebrate the breadth of our cultural diversity.”

While admission is free, a suggested donation of $10 will be accepted at the door to support Cathedral Voices and its ongoing mission to bring meaningful choral music to the community.
