JACKSON, Wyo. — Holiday music returns to the Center Theater this year, with a concert presented by Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir, the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra, and the Jackson Hole Youth Orchestra. The Jackson Hole Brass Quintet will also perform at this one-night event December 18th at 7:30 pm. Concert is free, masks are required. Attend in person or watch the livestream at cathedralvoices.org.
For over a decade, Cathedral Voices and the Symphony Orchestra have presented countless holiday concerts in Jackson Hole. The 2020 concert was pre-recorded and presented via livestream due to the Pandemic. “After a long Covid hiatus, the Jackson Hole Symphony Orchestra is very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate on one stage with all these talented local musical groups,” commented Mimi Scofield, orchestra founder. “We love ushering in the holiday spirit with fine music and friends.”
The theater doors will be open Saturday, with social distancing encouraged and masks required. The musicians and vocalists have taken extra precautions in their preparations as well – distancing and masking throughout the rehearsal process, and Covid-testing just prior to the performance. “It’s important that everyone feels safe, and can enjoy the performance,” noted conductor Laura Huckin.
A new partner – the Jackson Hole Youth Orchestra – has also joined this festive return to the stage. “MusicLand’s Youth Orchestra is excited to be included in this year’s collaboration of local area musicians for the holiday season,” said Michele Quinn, MusicLand’s Executive Director.
