Laura Huckin
Artistic Director, Conductor
Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir
Laura’s musical training began with classical piano at age 7. Under the tutelage of Margaret Witschard (Marylhurst University) and Connie Grabow (Lawrence Arts Academy) her proclivity for the performing arts was nurtured through amateur competitions including the Oregon Jr. Bach Festival, The Northwest Piano Teacher’s Forum, and Lawrence University’s Arts Academy for talented youth.
Laura has resided in Wyoming for almost 20 years. During this time, she has developed strong relationships with community organizations, local musicians, and creative leaders in Teton County and Western Wyoming. Laura is an accomplished pianist, accompanist, and seasoned musical director. She also has experience with event management, communications, and marketing from professional work in film production and managing operations for an international Film Festival. Laura’s combination of creativity and organizational experience has proven invaluable for a chamber choral group such as Cathedral Voices. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Media Arts and worked as Festival Director for the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival before joining Cathedral Voices. She assumed the position of Artistic Director of Cathedral Voices in January 2009. Laura has served on the Board of Directors for Jackson Hole’s Center for the Arts and was honored for her contributions to the arts by receiving the Cultural Council of Jackson Hole’s Award for Creativity in 2014.
