2018 Spring Music Festival Brings Visiting Composer to Jackson
Cathedral Voices presents a week of events with American Composer, Dan Forrest
JACKSON, WY.  Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir’s second Spring Music Festival presents four days of performances, lectures, and open rehearsals in Jackson, May 1-4, 2018. Featuring Dan Forrest, an internationally-acclaimed choral composer, educator, and pianist, this year’s Festival celebrates the process and artistry of music creation. Regional choral and instrumental ensembles will perform with Mr. Forrest at the conclusion of the week’s events.  For details, visit www.cathedralvoices.org.
In 2016, Cathedral Voices performed music by Dan Forrest with Distinguished Concerts International at Carnegie Hall and had the privilege of meeting the composer. “Dan is an extraordinary musician and artist,” commented Laura Huckin, Cathedral Voices Artistic Director. “It is a special honor to have him in Jackson, to engage and interact with our community.”  During the Festival week, Mr. Forrest will make classroom visits to local youth and offer public discussions, in addition to performing.
Although he frequently travels the world, Mr. Forrest has never been to Wyoming.  “I’m greatly looking forward to joining Cathedral Voices for this Festival in Jackson Hole,” commented Dan, “making beautiful music in a beautiful place.”
Supported in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, Center of Wonder/Town and County Arts for All, and Cathedral Voices’ Business Partners and Season Sponsors.
