Reflections – The Music of Dan Forrest
Cathedral Voices Reflects on Carnegie Hall, with a final spring concert
JACKSON, WY. Cathedral Voices invites the community to its final performance of the year – a special concert featuring the works of Mr. Dan Forrest, whose works have been hailed as “magnificent…superb…full of spine-tingling moments” (San Francisco Classical Voice, Salt Lake Tribune). The event takes place on Sunday, April 17th, @ 4:00 PM in the Center Theater. Audiences are invited to join Cathedral Voices in the theater lobby following the performance, to celebrate the end of the choir’s 2015-16 season. A $10 donation is suggested; however, the event is free and non-ticketed.
“The choir will be taking our audience on an exceptional musical journey, from the glorious and inspirational Te Deum, through the whimsical sounds of Windsong, and a striking piece scored for choir and percussion ensemble,” commented Artistic Director Laura Huckin. “We are proud to share this music from Dan Forrest, some of which was performed during our 4-day residency in New York City where we performed in Carnegie Hall.” Local chamber musicians and percussionists will take the stage with Cathedral Voices, showcasing the unique sounds of instruments such as the vibraphone, celeste, and harp. Adds Ms. Huckin, “The community won’t want to miss this final performance of the season!”
Supported in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the Laura Jane Musser Fund, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, and the Cultural Council of Jackson Hole/Town and County Arts for All.
